As part of the School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences, the University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology / Forensic Psychology to cover a maternity leave on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

The appointed individual will contribute to the delivery and design of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, aligning their work with the school’s research themes and centres, including:

  • International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology
  • Culture, Behaviour, Inclusivity and Governance
  • Quality of Life, Health and Wellbeing
  • Extreme Environments and Occupational Performance
  • Physical Activity, Health and Rehabilitation
  • Centre for Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology
  • Centre for Interaction, Development and Diversity
  • Dog Cognition Centre
  • Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing Research

The School offers a variety of taught courses such as BSc and MSc in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Health Psychology, and more. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and innovation activities, enhance student experience, and support outreach and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and contribute to curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology programmes.
  • Engage in scholarship, research, and innovation aligned with the School’s objectives.
  • Foster student employability and enterprise opportunities.
  • Participate in marketing, outreach, and widening participation activities.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues as part of a cohesive teaching team.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Forensic Psychology (highly preferred)
  • Broader knowledge in Psychology is also acceptable if expertise complements the school’s research themes.
