Description:
Join a landmark “once in a generation” project delivering clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. The Sizewell C project is a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast, providing reliable low-carbon electricity.
You will be part of the Civil Works Alliance, a collaborative partnership between Sizewell C and international construction leaders Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics, and Laing O’Rourke, combining global expertise in complex infrastructure delivery.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage all project costs from initial calculations to final figures to minimize costs and maximize value without compromising quality and standards.
Review tenders and cost data; prepare and manage Target Cost for projects.
Coordinate commercial teams to identify and resolve programme issues.
Manage commercial risk, opportunity, and disallowed costs.
Prepare and review Earned Value Management and monthly operating statements.
Report commercial progress to senior management.
Oversee procurement, contract management, and dispute resolution processes including SCL Protocol.
Recruit, develop, and manage commercial staff and performance.
Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams with strong interpersonal skills.
Take decisive actions and set challenging goals.
Candidate Requirements:
Chartered membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication and influencing skills.
Ability to manage conflicts and build respect across teams.
Knowledge of economic factors affecting the construction industry.
Experience in contract management, procurement, and commercial reporting.
Ability to innovate and implement improvements.
