Senior Quantity Surveyor

 

Description:

Farrans Construction is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support project leaders in delivering high-quality service, achieving project outcomes, and promoting a culture of innovation. The role involves contract administration, risk management, and negotiation to meet profitability and cash flow targets, while capturing and sharing knowledge across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and liaise with system sub-contractors

  • Advise on contractual issues and ensure commercial compliance of contracts

  • Report subcontract status to the Commercial Manager

  • Assist in pricing variations beyond mechanical and electrical scope

  • Cost control and monthly project cost reporting

  • Manage subcontract lifecycles, procurement, tendering, contract administration, and work package management

  • Measure quantities and prepare monthly financial statements of anticipated final accounts

  • Assist with monthly work-in-progress reports

  • Manage delegated resources including budgets, equipment, and contracts

  • Comply with Farrans’ policies on equality, sustainability, environment, health & safety, and data protection

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

  • Previous NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4 Option C)

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and pay attention to detail

  • Excellent time management, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
