As a Software Engineer on the Support Platform team, you will lead the architectural design and strategic integration of the backend systems that underpin Cloudflare’s global support infrastructure. You will partner with leadership across Product, Design, and Support Operations to define a long-term technical roadmap while mentoring fellow engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence. We are seeking a collaborative leader who takes deep ownership of system health and possesses the strategic mindset necessary to solve high-impact, cross-functional challenges. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring our support platform is both robust and flexible enough to meet the evolving needs of our customers and advocates.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of highly scalable backend services and APIs that support the global Support organization.
- Own the end-to-end integration strategy for complex vendor software, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.
- Partner closely with Product and Design leadership to define the technical roadmap and long-term vision for support tooling.
- Drive engineering excellence by establishing best practices for testing, deployment, and system observability.
- Mentor and coach other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth.
- Bridge the gap between frontend and backend architectures, ensuring a cohesive and performant full-stack experience.
Must-Have Skills
- Extensive experience in backend software engineering, with deep expertise in languages such as Go or Python.
- Proven track record of architecting and deploying distributed systems and complex API ecosystems.
- Advanced experience managing and optimizing integrations with major enterprise vendor platforms.
- Strong ability to navigate frontend frameworks (e.g., React) to provide architectural guidance and support full-stack initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical and debugging skills for resolving complex, cross-system issues.
- Collaborative leadership style with experience guiding projects from initial concept to successful production delivery.
