Service Engineer

Description:

Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. is seeking a Service Engineer for their Maritime Crane department, specifically for Off-Shore and Ship Cranes. This role requires technical expertise in electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems, ensuring service, maintenance, inspection, and repair are carried out effectively either on customer sites or at Liebherr locations.

The Service Engineer plays a key role in delivering top-quality maintenance and outstanding customer service. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety practices is essential, along with a proactive and responsible approach to fieldwork and time management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct service, inspection, maintenance, and repair work on off-shore and ship cranes.

• Diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults.

• Service and repair diesel engines, including ECU software uploads/downloads.

• Assist in assembly and dismantling of offshore and ship cranes.

• Maintain accurate documentation, process warranty returns, and manage return parts.

• Cooperate closely with the technical and depot teams to ensure consistent support.

• Work at heights and on offshore platforms as required.

• Ensure personal and site safety by adhering to workplace safety protocols.

• Maintain a professional image and ensure cleanliness of personal and company property.

• Demonstrate initiative for personal development and application of new skills in the field.

Key Requirements:

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 in a related industry or equivalent qualification.

• Slinger & CSCS cards are essential.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
