Description:
The Service Manager will be the strategic and operational lead for the Youth Justice Service across West Sussex. Reporting to the Head of Service, you will lead a group of Team Managers and staff, including seconded statutory partners, ensuring delivery of statutory youth justice services countywide. Your role will focus on achieving national and local performance targets while maintaining quality standards in practice.
You will provide professional leadership through complex, challenging cases and drive service improvement in partnership with multiple agencies. Your aim will be to enhance outcomes for children, families, victims, and communities affected by youth offending.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of managers and staff delivering youth justice services
Ensure compliance with statutory youth justice requirements
Drive continuous improvement in practice and service delivery
Manage complex cases involving risk, uncertainty, and challenge
Collaborate with partner agencies to meet shared objectives
Oversee research, evaluation, and service planning
Develop and implement policies, processes, and guidance
Maintain strategic and operational accountability
