Clifton Search is hiring a skilled Share Plans Lawyer for a prestigious in-house legal role at a global corporate services organisation with operations across all major financial hubs. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Function and will offer commercially focused legal support relating to HMRC-approved, unapproved, and global employee share plans. This includes overseeing foreign law regulatory due diligence, supporting share plan administration, and advising on regulated services such as asset management and share dealing.

The organisation is a market leader in employee share plan services, with aggressive growth targets for 2025, offering exposure to global operations and senior stakeholders. You will function as the team specialist, working autonomously while having the backing of an experienced legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on design, implementation, and administration of global and UK share schemes

• Conduct foreign law regulatory due diligence for international share plans

• Advise on HMRC-approved and unapproved share plan structures

• Support compliance across asset management and share dealing regulations

• Interact with senior stakeholders across a dynamic and fast-growing business

• Represent the legal function as an internal subject matter expert on employee incentives

Eligibility Criteria:

• Qualified solicitor with experience in employee share plans

• Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements for HMRC and global schemes

• Commercial legal mindset with stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and make critical legal decisions

• Previous in-house experience is preferred but not essential
