Description:

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join its Specialist Autism Team as a Band 6 therapist. This rewarding opportunity involves working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland to support Autistic individuals with communication difficulties.

The successful candidate will be embedded within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), playing a key role in delivering post-diagnostic support and contributing to person-centered care in homes and community settings. The therapist will collaborate closely with individuals, their families, and carers to ensure inclusive and effective care delivery.

The position requires excellent clinical skills, confidence in managing a varied caseload, and a passion for working with Autistic individuals. You'll also be expected to supervise junior staff, deliver training, contribute to service development and audits, and apply evidence-based practices with measurable outcomes. A full UK driving license and access to a car during working hours is essential due to the community-based nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver services within the Specialist Autism Team’s post-diagnostic pathway.

• Independently manage workload with support on prioritization.

• Work collaboratively with the MDT and external agencies.

• Develop and deliver training programs tailored to individual client needs.

• Supervise Band 5 therapists, assistants, students, and volunteers.

• Contribute to service development initiatives and audit projects.

• Apply evidence-based therapy approaches and measure clinical outcomes.
