M.A.H Gallery, an acclaimed art and interiors concept space in East London, is inviting applications for the role of Studio Assistant (Fixed Term Contract). Founded by Laura Fulmine, the gallery curates and showcases fine art, furniture, and vintage collections, while also supporting emerging and established artists through exhibitions, a concept showroom, and its unique concept store, The House. The gallery caters to an exclusive clientele across art, film, television, interiors, and luxury styling, making this an exciting opportunity for those seeking practical experience in a highly creative and dynamic environment.
The Studio Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the prop hire department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This position is particularly well-suited for individuals with an interest in art, design, styling, set decoration, or interiors, offering hands-on exposure to both the creative and operational aspects of a busy gallery and hire business.
Assist with the careful packing, preparation, and documentation of props and artworks for hire.
Help maintain and update inventory records and prop databases to ensure accuracy and organization.
Support in organising storage areas and arranging showroom displays for client visits.
Manage prop returns, including checking condition and returning items to proper storage.
Liaise with couriers and coordinate delivery logistics.
Photograph new items for cataloguing and website listings.
Provide administrative support to the Hires team and Studio Manager.
Assist during client visits, helping with prop selection and ensuring a professional experience.
Currently studying for or recently completed a degree in art, design, film, theatre, or a related creative discipline.
Strong interest in props, set design, interiors, or styling.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle delicate, valuable items with care and professionalism.
Physically fit and comfortable with lifting and moving objects.
Computer literate with proficiency in basic office software.
Positive, flexible, and willing to learn within a collaborative environment.
Practical, hands-on experience in a respected creative gallery environment.
