Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), is tasked with the critical role of decommissioning the UK's first-generation nuclear power stations and research sites, including Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd, Wylfa, Harwell, and Winfrith. Additionally, NRS oversees electricity generation at the Maentwrog hydroelectric plant. Within NRS, the Dounreay division manages the clean-up and demolition of the former fast reactor research center.

The role within the B462 Day Operations Team focuses on providing technical systems engineering support to supervisors responsible for waste management activities and systems at the B462 Waste Complex.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver systems engineering support for operational plant and equipment involved in waste management.

  • Provide maintenance and calibration assistance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.

  • Support defect resolution within the scope of operations.

  • Manage updates to team documents and maintain accurate records.

  • Contribute to work planning, specification development, scheduling, and preparation of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) packs.

  • Assist with procurement processes related to the waste management operations.

  • Maintain up-to-date ‘as-built’ plant information for operational accuracy.

Qualifications and Training:

  • HNC level or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical subject.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Essential: Experience with nuclear and/or conventional plant operations and maintenance.

  • Ability to write clear, effective procedural documentation.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.

  • Computer literate.

  • Desirable: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Desirable: Awareness of safe working practices.
