Technical Project Manager

 

Description:

Disrupt Talent, a specialist recruiter in the live events and exhibitions sector, is seeking a Technical Project Manager (Live Events & Production) to join a creative-led event production company in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced project manager with strong technical production expertise to take ownership of large-scale live events both in the UK and globally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-profile events, working closely with creative teams, technical crews, freelancers, and clients. You will ensure events are executed seamlessly, on time, within budget, and to the highest production standards, while also playing an active role in on-site delivery and international project travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage live events from initial brief through to execution and post-event reconciliation.

  • Act as the key contact for internal teams, freelancers, suppliers, and clients.

  • Interpret client briefs and propose cost-effective, practical, and creative production solutions.

  • Oversee budgets, timelines, logistics, and health & safety documentation for complex projects, including those over £250k.

  • Manage finances including budget creation, reconciliation, and invoicing.

  • Coordinate across internal teams, subcontractors, and freelancers to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Uphold strong client communication and maintain exceptional production quality.

  • Participate in on-site event delivery, including international travel as needed.

  • Support process improvements, team collaboration, and continuous learning within the business.

Candidate Profile / Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering live events.

  • Strong knowledge of technical and scenic production workflows.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to effectively manage teams and build client relationships.

  • Experienced in handling complex budgets and six-figure projects.

  • Familiarity with Health & Safety requirements, compliance, and documentation.

  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and industry-standard rental/project systems (e.g., HireHop).

  • Adaptable and resilient under pressure, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.

  • Willingness to travel internationally to support global event delivery.
