Technology Engineer

 

Description:

Arm is seeking a Senior CPU Technology Engineer – Dependability to join the Central Technology team. The role focuses on advancing technology and solving dependability challenges in next-generation CPUs. You will conduct technical explorations, feasibility studies, and evaluations of existing and new technologies to mitigate CPU faults. Your findings will guide forthcoming CPU projects, collaborating closely with CPU design teams to implement best-in-class solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies to mitigate faults in CPUs.

  • Collaborate proactively with CPU design teams to implement new technologies.

  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to guide future CPU projects.

  • Document and present findings clearly, influencing engineering decisions.

  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of CPU architecture and their role in SoCs or MCUs.

  • Demonstrated capability for innovative exploratory investigations and feasibility assessments.

  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in teams.


“Nice to Have” Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills for gathering and synthesizing diverse information.

  • Knowledge of hardware safety principles: fault tolerance, redundancy, and failure modes.

  • Familiarity with hardware design techniques and RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability).

  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and verification methodologies.

  • Passion for early-stage technology development and innovative problem-solving.
