Transport Planner

Description:

ALS Recruiting Ltd is hiring a Transport Planner for their Irish network operations based in Redditch, West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join a dynamic logistics team in a full-time, on-site capacity.

The Transport Planner will be responsible for developing and optimising transport schedules and routes to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The role demands a hands-on approach with a strong focus on operational efficiency, communication, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and routes, focusing on Irish logistics operations

• Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless transportation activities

• Track and monitor ongoing shipments, resolving any issues or delays swiftly

• Optimise routing to reduce operational costs while maintaining high delivery performance

• Ensure full compliance with transport safety and regulatory standards

• Maintain accurate records of schedules, dispatches, and delivery statuses

• Collaborate with operations teams and provide regular reports to management

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience in transport planning, preferably with Irish transport logistics exposure

• Strong understanding of transportation and logistics regulations

• Familiarity with route planning software and vehicle tracking systems (advantageous)

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Resilient under pressure with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
