Underwriting Risk

Description:

LV= General Insurance, a part of Allianz, is looking for an Underwriting Risk, Governance, and Regulation Consultant to join their Pricing and Underwriting team. The role involves ensuring effective governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the underwriting function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing policies, tracking risk incidents, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to UK regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management:

✔ Ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements and Allianz Group policies
✔ Work closely with underwriting teams to report and control risks
✔ Track underwriting risk incidents and implement effective controls
✔ Conduct risk control testing and track improvements

Governance & Compliance:

✔ Assist in the annual review of Underwriting Statement of Practice & Risk Appetite
✔ Support testing and embedding of underwriting governance across all business lines
✔ Conduct gap analysis of underwriting functional rules and track compliance
✔ Manage underwriting audit responses and follow-up actions

Regulatory Compliance:

✔ Review FCA regulations, external consultancy reports, and internal audit findings
✔ Ensure compliance with data governance and fair value assessments
✔ Support interactions with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other regulators

Skills & Experience Required:

✔ Experience in General Insurance Underwriting
✔ Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements and risk management cycles
✔ Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
✔ Ability to influence and motivate underwriting teams
