Urban Designer

Description:

Pegasus Group is expanding its Design service team and is seeking talented Urban Designers to join their multidisciplinary consultancy. The role includes preparing and overseeing conceptual urban design and planning work, conducting feasibility studies, master planning, development briefs, and design strategies for residential and mixed-use schemes.

As part of a dynamic and innovative team, you will work on significant projects across the UK including large-scale urban extensions, area regeneration strategies, renewable energy projects, and residential developments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing visioning and master planning for both large and small sites.

• Producing high-quality drawn and written material to support outline, full, and reserved matters planning applications.

• Working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure design solutions meet client and local authority requirements.

• Applying commercial insight to residential layout design for successful project delivery.

• Adapting designs to comply with local authority design guidance and planning policies.

What Are We Looking For:

• Relevant qualifications in design or urban planning.

• Experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding operations.

• Strong skills in visioning, master planning, and residential layout design.

• Proficient in producing supporting documentation for various stages of planning applications.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Self-motivated with keen attention to detail.

• Working knowledge of the planning system and ability to interpret and apply local design guidance.

• Proficiency in CAD software packages, with experience in Vectorworks considered advantageous.
