Vehicle Technician Trainer

 

Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global Defence company as a Vehicle Technician Trainer. In this role, you will deliver high-quality technical training to military students of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), helping to ensure that Army vehicles (including tanks, HGVs, and Land Rovers) remain in top condition, even in extreme environments. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to make an impact on the development of future military personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare relevant training materials, collaborating with the Media and Graphics Department to create engaging content for Initial Trade Training.

  • Maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio to stay current with new technologies and equipment, ensuring that training materials evolve with equipment and technology advances.

  • Create, deliver, and assess training sessions and exams, including both written examinations and practical assessments.

  • Monitor trainee progress, provide feedback, and ensure all supporting documentation is maintained.

  • Flag any special trainee needs or delays to the Lead Trainer (LT) for appropriate intervention.

Required Experience:

  • Essential:

    • Vehicle Technician background

    • Minimum City & Guilds Part 3/NVQ L3 or Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance

    • At least 5 years’ experience in an appropriate industry environment

    • Knowledge of vehicle inspection processes (MEI/MOT)

  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience in an Army/Defence environment

    • Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement/ Education & Training
