Vets for Pets Plymouth is offering an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, skilled, and community-oriented team in a well-established, fully-equipped practice. As part of the practice led by Clinical Lead Vet Kendall (RVC graduate, currently pursuing an Emergency and Critical Care certificate), and supported by Head Nurse Katie and Clinical Coach Nikki, this opportunity allows you to become part of a high-performing, committed veterinary team in the heart of Plymouth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a wide variety of cases from routine health consults to more complex medical and surgical procedures

  • Operate confidently both independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Provide excellent clinical care, client service, and communication

  • Engage in structured 15-minute consult blocks to ensure thorough care and manageable workflow

  • Participate in a rota that may include 1 in 3 Saturdays, with no out-of-hours (OOH) work required

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and professional working environment


Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine and current RCVS registration

  • Broad GP veterinary experience and comfortable with sole charge responsibilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong surgical and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to work both full-time or part-time (minimum 30 hours/week preferred)

Desirable:

  • Interest or experience in emergency and critical care

  • Willingness to pursue further certification with CPD support
