Void Supervisor

Description:

Mears Group PLC, a leading national provider of housing and care services, is seeking a Void Supervisor to manage void property operations in partnership with Lewes District Council (Homes First). This is a full-time, on-site permanent position based in Eastbourne (servicing Lewes), offering a competitive salary, company van, and fuel card.

The Void Supervisor will oversee all aspects of void refurbishment and maintenance—from initial property assessment and scheduling to final inspections and invoicing. You’ll be the critical link between client surveyors, operatives, and subcontractors, ensuring that turnaround times, work quality, and compliance standards are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site visits with client surveyors to determine work scope for void properties

• Prepare detailed work schedules using the Maintenance and Construction Management (MCM) system

• Coordinate operatives and subcontractors to carry out necessary works

• Perform routine inspections and quality checks

• Conduct joint final inspections with the client before handover

• Manage all invoicing and accurate cost documentation

• Conduct regular vehicle safety checks for operatives

• Ensure all site work complies with health and safety regulations

• Use Workday to allocate work, track productivity, and resolve issues

• Manage a team of operatives and subcontractors to deliver timely, compliant property turnarounds

Essential Criteria:

• Substantial trade background in construction or property maintenance

• Team leadership and subcontractor management experience

• Must hold a full UK driving licence

• Ability to use digital tools like MCM and Workday

• Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)

• Subject to DBS/security checks before employment

Working Hours:

• Full-time

• 42.5 hours/week
