Assistant General Manager

We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager for an intimate new Japanese restaurant opening in Soho.

This is a 20-seat, counter-led concept centred around sushi hand rolls with British influences, with every guest seated at the bar. Think highly personal service, brilliant food and drinks, and a small team where everyone is hands-on.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn, take ownership and help shape a restaurant from the beginning.

The role:
You’ll work closely with the General Manager, Head Chef and owner across the day-to-day running of the restaurant, with shared responsibility for:
- Delivering a high-touch, personal guest experience
- Supporting and leading a small, close-knit FOH team
- Drinks service and strong product knowledge
- Stock control and inventory
- Putting strong operational processes in place
- Supporting HR, H&S and general restaurant administration
- Reservations and systems experience is essential, current systems are Toast, Opentable, with a move to SevenRooms
- Getting stuck into service rather than managing from the sidelines
