As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play an integral role in developing and managing a portfolio of clients, engaging in risk and facility underwriting, and contributing to the profitable growth of the team. You will collaborate closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather, analyze, and verify information to make informed commercial underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk and facility underwriting to develop a portfolio of clients.

• Engage in problem-solving to identify and implement better solutions.

• Continuously seek improvements in processes, relationships, and technology.

• Communicate effectively through various channels including calls, emails, and meetings.

• Develop and implement plans that align with strategic objectives.

• Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to ensure accurate decision-making.

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Curiosity to understand the "why" behind data.

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage and implement plans autonomously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Good mathematical ability, including percentages, ratios, and statistical concepts.

Desirable:

• Prior experience in underwriting, broking, or claims.

• Competency in policy wording preparation and contract analysis.

• Proven track record of developing underwriting business.
