Description:

A leading insights provider to the FMCG, retail, and hospitality sectors is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join its high-performing commercial team. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how insight, data, and strategic consultancy fuel growth. The primary responsibility will be new business acquisition, alongside expanding and developing relationships with existing clients.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify, target, and secure new clients within the FMCG and retail sectors

  • Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and pitching to closing and onboarding

  • Maintain a robust pipeline with clear forecasting and CRM management

  • Use insight-led consultative selling to tailor solutions to clients' strategic goals

  • Work closely with existing clients to understand their evolving needs and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities

  • Ensure client satisfaction, renewals, and consistent use of services and insights

  • Act as a strategic advisor, helping clients unlock maximum value from their subscriptions or bespoke projects

  • Collaborate with research and product teams to provide client feedback and shape future offerings

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within data, market research, insights, or consultancy

  • Experience working with FMCG, retail, food & drink, or out-of-home sectors

  • Strong hunter mentality with the ability to uncover client pain points and provide relevant solutions

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Commercially curious and results-driven

  • CRM-savvy (e.g. Salesforce) with a proactive and structured sales management approach

  • Experience managing or growing client accounts is a plus
