Business Development Specialist

Description:

As Business Development Executive you will take ownership of generating, managing and converting new business opportunities. A key focus will be expanding my client’s footprint across organisations that recognise the importance of employee wellbeing and culture change. You will proactively reach out to prospective clients, engage key stakeholders and develop a strong pipeline through a mix of inbound and outbound activity.

Your outreach will include LinkedIn prospecting, targeted email campaigns and telephone engagement. Working hand in hand with the marketing team, you will respond to qualified inbound leads and ensure that each opportunity is handled with professionalism and pace. You will be confident in articulating how my client’s services support workforce engagement and deliver measurable value. Once a client is onboarded you will remain their main point of contact, developing the account and identifying additional services that can boost their engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business acquisition across target sectors with a strong emphasis on outbound prospecting
  • Work closely with marketing to maximise inbound opportunity and convert warm leads
  • Build meaningful relationships with HR professionals, health and wellbeing managers and culture leads
  • Deliver engaging presentations and proposals that highlight the value of the products and services
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and consistently work toward monthly and quarterly new business targets
  • Retain and develop newly acquired accounts, identifying further opportunities to introduce additional wellbeing and culture change solutions
  • Position my client as a trusted partner in workforce engagement, wellbeing and cultural transformation

About You

To succeed in this role you will be a proactive, energetic business development specialist who enjoys driving conversations and seeing them through to close. You will be confident, commercially aware and comfortable working within a target focused environment. Ideally you will come from a background selling culture change programmes, employee wellbeing solutions or employee assistance programmes, although candidates with experience selling HR related services will also be considered.

You will understand the challenges faced by HR and wellbeing stakeholders and be able to communicate how you can support them in building a happier, more engaged workforce. You will also be naturally curious, resilient and motivated by the opportunity to build something significant in a growing organisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a business development or sales role with a track record of achieving targets
  • Experience selling services related to employee culture change, wellbeing programmes or EAPs is highly advantageous
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Confident using LinkedIn and CRM systems (Salesforce)) to manage outreach and pipeline development
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative, supportive team environment
  • A consultative and solutions focused approach to client engagement
