Delegated Authority Manager

Description:

Markel International is seeking a Delegated Authority Manager to lead its Delegated Authority onboarding team. This role ensures effective due diligence, underwriting, and claims compliance across multiple divisions, including Wholesale, State National Global, Global Re, and Global Specialty Divisions.

As a key member of the Wholesale Operations team, you will play a crucial role in regulatory compliance, process improvement, and business development, ensuring Markel International’s delegated underwriting and claims onboarding functions run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Oversee due diligence reviews for coverholders, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
✔ Enhance and implement Delegated workflow systems to streamline onboarding and compliance processes
✔ Monitor Delegated Authority and Claims business tracker to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met
✔ Manage post-bind activities, ensuring timely completion of delegated authority tasks
✔ Provide oversight for global Service Company Arrangements, adhering to agreed standards
✔ Work closely with Governance, Risk, Compliance, Underwriting, and Claims teams to maintain regulatory compliance
✔ Co-chair Delegated Oversight Groups and attend Delegated Oversight Committee meetings

Requirements:

✅ Previous experience in Delegated Authority Management (Syndicate / Managing Agent / Lloyd’s of London)
✅ Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s DA regulations, including binders, DCOM, and ATLAS
✅ Expertise in UK Consumer Delegated Authority business with awareness of recent UK Consumer Duty regulatory changes
✅ Strategic and innovative mindset to aid business development
✅ Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
✅ High accuracy and attention to detail in regulatory and operational oversight
✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
✅ Effective stakeholder management with ability to collaborate across teams
