Description:
The Diocese of York, serving the Church of England between the Rivers Humber and Tees and across Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Diocesan Secretary to help Live Christ’s Story by embodying Christ-like values, expanding reach, growing churches, and transforming diocesan finances and structures.
As Deputy Diocesan Secretary, you will:
Provide Strategic Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Diocesan Secretary (CEO) and the Diocesan Leadership Team to advance the diocesan vision and strategy.
Oversee Operations: Manage and coordinate teams of domain experts delivering specialist services to parishes and the wider diocesan community, ensuring alignment with mission and effective service.
Lead Projects: Take charge of key projects that promote diocesan objectives, demonstrating initiative, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Practicing Christian with a deep commitment to the Church of England’s mission and values.
Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
Proven team leadership experience in a complex organisational environment.
Flexible to travel across the diocese and work outside standard hours including evenings and weekends.
