Devops Engineer

Description:

We work flexibly and try to adhere to core hours of 10am - 4pm. We start the day with a stand up to discuss what we are working on and any blockers we may have and then get stuck into our tasks for the day.

Our custom IAMS solution is used by thousands of users across the Met Office and our customers. We employ Azure, AWS and ServiceNow as identity providers, for CI/CD, workflows, testing and more. The tasks you pick up from the Jira board will be varied and will provide opportunities to master multiple technologies.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will architect and implement novel solutions to complex identity challenges and deliver them to production whilst providing technical mentorship to junior colleagues and the development teams of consuming services.

Identity and Access Management (IAM) extends far beyond a pane in the AWS console for us. Our team are experts in identity from on-premise to the cloud, from Azure to AWS, from SAML to OIDC, from MFA to verified ID. We are experts in the technologies we use and we are experts in the business problems we solve.

Our team participates and contributes to various Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, and retrospectives. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to lead the team through technical refinement sessions and assist the other senior members of the team in shaping the future of our service. By engaging in open communication and embracing a culture of shared ownership, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and productive work environment that thrives on innovation, learning, and growth.

Our team takes ownership of and resolves support issues and tasks quickly and efficiently. This includes responding to alerts, troubleshooting and resolving incidents, and coordinating with other teams to ensure the resilience of our production systems.
