Document Controller

 

Description:

Balfour Beatty is hiring a Document Controller for the HS2 Project. As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all project document flow, ensuring accurate registration, storage of drawings and specifications, and liaising with the site team, design team, subcontractors, customers, external suppliers, and work-winning staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the requirements for document control on the project to ensure implementation and compliance with standards established within the Business Management System.
  • Identify contractual requirements in relation to document control.
  • Ensure accurate control of documentation from pre-construction through to completion and archiving.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure they fully understand document control and system procedures and provide training and instruction as required.
  • Ensure procedures are fully implemented to meet the requirements of the BMS and other documentation and information systems.
  • Manage business archiving to ensure all documentation is stored efficiently and can always be accessed and referenced.
  • Continuously improve and enhance procedures and systems used for document control.
  • Provide feedback to design and project managers regarding all documentation issues.
  • Support in compiling the H&S file.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Understanding of IT systems used in documentation control.
  • Good experience of document control.
  • Basic understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling).
  • Ability to understand how the operations of the department relate to others and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcome for the business.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
