Financial Controller

Description:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a newly created role due to growth, where you will be operating as the number two to the Financial Controller. You will be owning areas of the month-end and year-end as as well as driving improvements across their cashflow forecasting and automating the financial controls environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting with the consolidation of the group accounts in accordance with UK GAAP
• Leading on month-end accounting including balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register
• Playing a key part in the production of VAT returns
• Working with the Financial Controller to drive process improvement in their cashflow forecasting and managing FX
• Managing the stock accounting process
• Driving process improvement across the group including looking at ways to automate processes

What they are looking for

• Newly Qualified Accountant from practice (ACA Qualified)
• Experience auditing or preparing accounts for consumer clients or stock related businesses a plus
• Proven experience of recommending improvements to existing processes and a desire to drive change is key
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and v lookups) is essential
• A can do attitude and a desire to learn and develop in this role is key
• Ambitious with the desire to progress into a Financial Controller role longer term
