What made this message particularly satisfying was that his situation, at first glance, looked like one of those cases where doors had quietly closed.
He had a strong academic background, a reputable degree and previous internship experience that should have placed him in a competitive position. Yet after months of applications, conversations and interviews, nothing had converted into an offer. The standard recruitment cycles had largely passed, and most people around him had already assumed the opportunity window for that year was gone.

Rather than continuing the same process again and again, we stepped back and approached the situation differently.
