Description:

CityFibre, the UK’s largest fibre-only network and wholesale challenger, is looking for a HR Officer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in a hybrid role based in Irlam. As a pioneering digital infrastructure provider, CityFibre is reshaping the future of connectivity with a green, high-speed and reliable network designed for the internet age. This role offers the opportunity to directly support the organisation’s people operations while being a crucial part of its HR and employee relations strategy.

As the first point of contact for HR and ER enquiries, the HR Officer will support both strategic HR projects and day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth HR service delivery across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR guidance to line managers on policies and processes

  • Manage a variety of ER cases, such as underperformance and absence issues

  • Evaluate workplace priorities and manage risks on a case-by-case basis

  • Maintain records and responses via the internal service desk platform

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to support broader HR initiatives


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in Employee Relations (ER) and case management

  • Excellent written communication, including letter and report drafting

  • Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities efficiently

  • Flexible and adaptable work style suited to a dynamic environment

  • Experience working across different departments and teams
