Maintenance Technician

Description:

The University of Warwick invites applications for the position of Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) to join the Innovation Campus Stratford-upon-Avon team. The role involves providing flexible maintenance support across the electrical and mechanical systems and building fabric. Key responsibilities include reactive and planned maintenance, statutory testing, and basic repairs, with a focus on mechanical trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct plumbing and mechanical fitting tasks as required.
• Assist trades teams in general maintenance duties.
• Respond to high volumes of reactive maintenance calls promptly and efficiently.
• Participate in the call-out rota as needed.
• Work across multiple locations, including the University’s main campus, if necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent training in building or mechanical services.
• Extensive hands-on experience in maintenance tasks, particularly plumbing and mechanical fitting.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and handle high-pressure situations.
• Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical and building service issues.
