Nightshift Mechanical Fitter

Description:

Cavendish Nuclear is recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their nightshift team at the prestigious Hinkley Point C nuclear power project in Bridgwater, Somerset. This project represents the UK’s first-ever 3rd generation nuclear power plant and is critical to the nation's clean energy ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work within the MEH Alliance delivering complex mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

• Interpret mechanical engineering drawings, general arrangement diagrams, and method statements to perform fitting tasks.

• Use assembly and installation drawings to guide work on mechanical plant and equipment.

• Shape materials and components using hand and machine tools.

• Assemble, install, and test mechanical plant and pipework.

• Apply fault-finding techniques and carry out necessary mechanical adjustments.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in mechanical fitting, working from technical drawings and instructions.

• Skilled in using tools and equipment for removal and installation of mechanical plant.

Qualifications:

• Level 3 Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Engineering or Mechanical Fitting, or related disciplines such as Mechanical, Aircraft, Plant, Machinery, Marine, Vehicle Maintenance, or Mechanical Manufacturing (Fitting and Assembly).

• Installing and Commissioning Machinery and Equipment experience.

• Valid CCNSG Safety Passport is essential.
