Operations Director

Description:

Wiltshire and Swindon Sport CIC (WASP), the Active Partnership for the Wiltshire and Swindon region, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Director to lead strategic implementation and ensure effective day-to-day operations. This is a critical senior leadership role responsible for aligning resources and partnerships to promote active lifestyles and participation in sports across the region.

As a key member of the executive team, the Operations Director will oversee resource and budget management, lead project implementation, and foster robust strategic partnerships to deliver impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to the organisation’s strategic planning and decision-making as part of the executive team.

• Lead and deliver key strategic plans and new initiatives in alignment with WASP's goals.

• Effectively manage budgets, human resources, and operational capacity.

• Secure external funding through strategic partnerships and bid writing.

• Foster and sustain collaborative relationships with key external organisations.

• Monitor and analyse operational performance, providing regular reports and strategic insights.

• Ensure strict adherence to quality, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.

Candidate Profile / Person Specification:

• Demonstrated success in business development, writing bids, and project management.

• Proven capability in team leadership, staff development, and performance management.

• Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in databases, spreadsheets, and website management.

• Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.

• Ability to travel independently and work flexibly, including evenings or weekends as required.

• Experience interacting with or reporting to a Management Board.

• Skills in strategic communications, including social media planning.
