Plant Technician

 

Description:

Element Materials Technology, a global leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector, is seeking a dedicated Plant Technician to join its rapidly expanding maintenance team in Warrington. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with advanced industrial systems while contributing to Element’s mission of making tomorrow safer than today.

As a Plant Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of plant equipment and facilities. You’ll perform maintenance, inspection, and decontamination tasks across various systems while maintaining compliance with Element’s high safety and performance standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct decontamination, maintenance, and inspection of ESP filter systems.

  • Inspect and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs), air intake grills, ducts, and dampers.

  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of furnaces and other ancillary components.

  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to company health and safety protocols.

  • Compile and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) records using the CMMS system.

  • Perform building fabric cleaning, ladder inspections, and scaffold inspections.

  • Assist the engineering team in various maintenance and operational projects as required.

  • Uphold Element’s Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values, and comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Engage in working at height and ensure compliance with relevant safety guidelines.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in an industrial environment with relevant maintenance or technical skills.

  • Certifications or operational experience such as FLT (Forklift Truck), MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform), or Overhead Crane (OHC) operation are advantageous.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Basic IT literacy, including the ability to use Outlook, spreadsheets, and internal CMMS systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, work to deadlines, and report progress effectively to management.

  • A proactive and safety-focused approach to all tasks.
