Description:
The Registered Home Manager will lead and manage the daily running of the children’s home and ensure that it meets the expectations and standards as set out in the homes Statement of Purpose, in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and the standards outlined by Ofsted, and to maintain high standards ensuring compliance.
Essential Criteria
- Must produce satisfactory enhanced DBS.
- 3 years’ work experience working with Children and Young People within a residential environment including 2 years at senior level
- Strong knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for residential children’s homes, Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, Care Standards Act 2000, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015, Health and Safety at work and associated guidance and regulation.
- Must have knowledge of child development and understanding of the needs of children and young people
- Must have evidence-based knowledge of Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reporting.
- NVQ 4 or Diploma 5, care manager or registered manager award for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent; or a preparedness to work towards the same.
- Must have QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare
- Must have 3 years’ experience working with children in the last 5 years and at least 1 year at senior level.
- Must be IT literate and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a commitment to professional development and expand skills, knowledge and qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- To be ‘fit’ to manage a children’s home as outlined in the requirements for registration as a manger.
