Senior Analyst

Description:

Allianz UK is seeking a Home Risk Selection Senior Analyst to join the newly created Home Risk Selection team within the Retail Portfolio Pricing and Underwriting division. This hybrid role involves supporting home and travel insurance products, blending skills in pricing, underwriting, and data analytics. The successful candidate will participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation and may access actuarial study support via the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage underwriting rules and footprint for home and travel products.

• Analyse opportunities to expand or contract underwriting footprint.

• Monitor quotability and report on key risk indicators (KRIs).

• Implement changes to underwriting rules within Radar Live.

• Support claims cost prediction model adjustments and “actual vs expected” claims monitoring.

• Conduct “deep dives” into niches and recommend changes to technical cost models.

• Support the development of underwriting capability on home products.

Essential Skills:

• Strong commercial judgement and advocacy for change and innovation.

• Ability to assess underwriting risks in new or unusual segments.

• Competence in underwriting guides, product structures, and coverage.

• Expertise in pricing, data analytics, or statistics.

• Keen awareness of market competition.
