This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Analytics, and Strategy, supporting the eBay UK business in understanding and improving performance. The team focuses on turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform decision-making. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping how performance is measured, explained, and optimized, with regular exposure to senior Finance and cross-functional leadership. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact analyses, improve reporting frameworks, and influence business outcomes through data-driven insights.
What You Will Accomplish
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting, translating results into clear insights on trends, risks, and opportunities
- Analyze GMV and core performance metrics across customer segments, categories, channels, and initiatives to identify key drivers
- Build and improve reporting frameworks, tools, and diagnostics to enable faster, more effective decision-making
- Identify and explain variances versus forecast, prior year, and plan, and provide actionable recommendations
- Partner with Finance, Analytics, Marketing, Strategy, Product, and Commercial teams to address critical business questions
- Improve reporting quality and scalability by automating recurring analyses and reducing manual processes
- Contribute to executive-ready materials, including performance updates and deep-dive analyses for leadership reviews
What You Will Bring
- Experience in an analytical role within Finance, Analytics, Strategy, Consulting, Product, or Business Operations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to structure and analyze complex business questions
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets to build reusable analyses
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Strong spreadsheet and modeling skills, with experience analyzing forecasts and performance drivers
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate analysis into concise recommendations
- Attention to detail and accuracy in business-critical reporting, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
