Senior Property Counter Fraud Lead

Aviva is seeking a Senior Property Counter Fraud Lead to oversee fraud prevention across UKGI Property Claims (Home and Commercial Property). This role involves developing counter-fraud strategies, managing in-house fraud triage and investigations, and overseeing outsourced fraud activities to legal and loss adjuster/ investigation suppliers.

The role is aimed at building the Property Counter-Fraud team to be the UK market leader, utilizing both human capability and advanced analytics to combat fraud, enhance detection and investigation techniques, and improve customer outcomes. You will lead a team of approximately 40-50 colleagues and be responsible for the strategic expansion of the team to meet business goals, improve customer experiences, and support the wider Property team’s indemnity targets.

As a leader, you will act as a role model for Aviva values, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to drive efficiencies in the fraud process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute counter-fraud strategies across Home and Commercial Property Claims.

• Lead fraud prevention and investigation activities, managing in-house and outsourced resources.

• Build a high-performing team of 40-50 colleagues, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with Aviva's values.

• Analyze data sets to improve fraud detection and customer outcomes.

• Manage stakeholder relationships and influence decisions across the organization.

• Ensure risk management and operational controls are in place.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Counter fraud and operational experience in Property/Claims.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret a wide range of data.

• Proven leadership experience in developing and managing a high-performing team.

• Excellent relationship management and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to define and manage risks and operational issues within a structured risk framework.
