Senior Site Manager

Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Site Manager to join the West Midlands Business Unit at Galliford Try. The project is valued at approximately £23m and is based in the Birmingham area. It involves the construction of a four-storey building that will house offices and laboratories focused on energy experiments. The project is set to start in Q3 2024 with enabling works, followed by the main construction phase in Q1 2025 and completion by Q2 2026.

The Senior Site Manager will oversee day-to-day operations on site, working with site managers, engineers, and other team members. The project is heavily focused on carbon reduction and will involve ambitious environmental targets. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, who will handle client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Directly manage the site operational team, including Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Labour, and Contingent Worker Managers.
• Project Delivery: Ensure that the assigned projects or sections are delivered effectively, economically, and to the highest quality standards in compliance with company procedures.
• Client Relations: Maintain a positive relationship with the client, promoting repeat business opportunities.
• Deputy Role: Step in as the Project Manager when needed (e.g., during leave or absence).

About You:

• Qualifications: HNC, ONC, or equivalent.
• CSCS Card: Appropriate level card for site management.
• Fire Marshal Training: Required.
• Experience: Proven experience in the construction industry, including frameworks, site management, and leadership roles.
• Certifications: 5-day SMSTS and current first aid certification.
