Senior Test Engineer

Description:

Searchability® is seeking a Senior / Lead QA Engineer to join their technology team in Middlesbrough. This role offers a unique opportunity to be both a hands-on tester and a leader, mentoring a small QA team while contributing to a range of impactful software projects across hospitality and tech-for-good sectors.

You will work closely with the CTO (a former QA professional) and collaborate with project teams to ensure the highest standards of software quality are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct manual and automation testing using JavaScript and Cypress.

• Perform Functional, Regression, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and End-to-End Testing.

• Mentor and lead two QA team members, fostering a strong culture of quality and collaboration.

• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and enforce quality standards across projects.

• Manage and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, attending regular project and status meetings.

• Utilize project management tools like Jira for task tracking and progress reporting.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Strong hands-on experience in automation testing.

• Proficiency in JavaScript and Cypress testing frameworks.

• Solid understanding of SQL for database validation.

• Experience in a senior or lead QA role with mentoring responsibilities.

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to voice ideas and implement improvements.
