Description:

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Lead – Early Help to oversee its Early Help Hub team for an 18-month fixed-term contract. This pivotal role involves leading multiple teams within the Early Help service, ensuring that children and families across the county receive timely and effective support.

The Early Help service plays an essential role in providing advice, guidance, and interventions to families, offering a wide range of services including Family Support, Family Group Conferencing, Parenting programs, and multi-agency collaboration with Early Help Coordinators and Community Social Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage various teams within the Early Help service

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and quality assurance to service managers and team managers

  • Analyse team performance and implement strategies for service improvement

  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure best outcomes for children and families

  • Drive systemic practice methodologies and support relational approaches to family engagement

  • Report to the senior service manager on progress and service delivery

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Children, Young People and Families field

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in Children’s Social Care and Early Help

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and quality assurance skills

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment

  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and positive service delivery
