Technical Project Manager

Description:

A leading financial-adjacent technology provider is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join their programme delivery team in Peterborough. The role involves overseeing high-priority technology projects, ensuring structured execution, and driving delivery excellence across cross-functional teams.

You will lead end-to-end project delivery — from planning and milestone tracking to post-launch governance — in alignment with Agile best practices and the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of project execution, ensuring objectives are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards

• Manage SDLC activities using Scrum and Kanban methodologies

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and coach teams on Agile principles

• Maintain detailed project plans and administer tools such as Jira and SharePoint

• Lead scope discussions, backlog prioritisation, and milestone tracking

• Coordinate with offshore teams and manage distributed work environments

• Present project status and risks to senior stakeholders and portfolio leads

• Implement change management processes and ensure strong project governance

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years managing multiple IT projects in Agile environments

• Proven track record in stakeholder management and cross-functional team leadership

• Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and SDLC processes

• Proficiency in Jira, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint

• PMP certification required; Scrum Master certification preferred

• Experience working in matrixed, fast-paced organisations, ideally in software/product-focused businesses

• Strong risk management and change management skills
