Veterinary Surgeon

Description:

Medivet is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join its Redbourn practice in the St Albans area on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, well-equipped, and supportive environment that prioritizes exceptional clinical care for both animals and clients.

The role involves working 3 days per week from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with one of those days spent consulting at the Harpenden branch, where the vet will be working sole charge. Surgical procedures are conducted at the Redbourn practice. Complex cases and overnight care are referred to the Medivet Watford center, which provides access to advanced diagnostic tools and treatment capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver top-tier clinical care during consultations and procedures

• Maintain clear, empathetic communication with clients regarding treatment plans and patient progress

• Prepare accurate and tailored treatment plans with clear cost estimates

• Collaborate with and mentor clinical and support staff, promoting best practices and team growth

• Ensure high standards of clinical, operational, and regulatory compliance

• Support out-of-hours and advanced care referrals where necessary

• Foster a progressive and team-oriented clinical culture

Your Skills & Experience:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Strong clinical knowledge with a track record of delivering excellent veterinary care

• Confident in working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Experience with clinical leadership and mentoring

• Familiarity with nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures

• Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills
