Veterinary Surgeon

Description:

Linnaeus is seeking a motivated and client-focused Veterinary Surgeon to join City Vets in Heavitree, Exeter. This first opinion and referral practice provides a varied caseload and offers the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients and patients. The practice is RCVS-accredited with state-of-the-art facilities, including CT, 3D ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, and dental imaging. You will work within a supportive team of certificate holders and visiting specialists in cardiology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, and behaviour, with strong case support through referral networks and CPD opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality clinical care to patients during consultations, procedures, and surgeries

• Develop strong client relationships and deliver personalised care

• Collaborate with a skilled nursing team for imaging, dental procedures, and routine surgeries

• Participate in career development and clinical learning through certificates and CPD

• Support the practice’s standards, including Cat Friendly Clinic and Rabbit Friendly accreditation

• Share weekend duties fairly and contribute to a positive team environment

Requirements / Skills:

• RCVS registration

• Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in first opinion practice

• Passion for client interaction and high-quality animal care

• Ability to handle both routine consultations and surgical procedures

• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
