Data Engineer

Description:

A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their rapidly growing IT team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Java, Python, and Microservices Architecture, while contributing to the development and improvement of the company's Data Engineering platform.

Responsibilities:

• Work within the core engineering team to deliver features across the Data Engineering platform.

• Use Java/Python to implement scalable and efficient solutions.

• Collaborate with the team to integrate Snowflake and Databricks into the platform.

• Design and implement Microservices Architecture for optimal system functionality.

• Ensure quality and consistency through Unit testing with tools such as NUnit, MSTest, and Junit.

• Work with ETL processes, ensuring efficient data pipelines and integration.

• Use Continuous Integration tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS, Jenkins for seamless workflow.

Qualifications:

• Advanced working knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks.

• Expertise in Java/Python development, with hands-on experience in OO programming.

• Experience with Microservices Architecture and Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, AWS, Jenkins).

• Strong understanding of ETL processes and familiarity with Data Fabric.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks like NUnit, MSTest, and Junit.

• Knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles.

• Previous experience in a financial services environment is highly desirable.
