Delivery Specialist

Description:

O’Reilly Auto Parts, a leading and trusted name in the automotive retail and distribution industry, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Delivery Specialist-3 to join its team in Des Moines, IA. This full-time, on-site role is integral to ensuring excellent customer service by delivering parts and products to professional clients in a timely and secure manner. The position also involves handling customer returns, maintaining delivery vehicles, and supporting in-store operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles to deliver automotive parts and products to professional customers.

• Accurately process deliveries using fleet management hand-held devices, including capturing customer signatures, updating vehicle mileage, and completing daily vehicle inspections.

• Maintain cleanliness and security of delivery vehicles, keys, credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected payments.

• Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, and cores) and complete proper return documentation.

• Communicate customer concerns or special requirements to store management.

• Report accidents, damage, or maintenance needs immediately to the store manager.

• Ensure vehicles are refueled and secured at the end of each workday.

• Support store operations by assisting with customer service, cashiering, merchandising, stocking, handling returns, and other general duties as assigned.

• Provide excellent customer interaction, ensuring professionalism and responsiveness in every delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Required:

  • Valid state driver’s license and eligibility under company driving standards.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.

  • Proven ability to adapt to varying delivery conditions.

  • Clean driving record that meets O’Reilly’s 14/18-point system requirements.

• Preferred:

  • Familiarity with automotive parts and store operations.

  • Experience operating light store equipment.

  • Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
