Description:
Cambridgeshire Constabulary is recruiting Detective Constables through a transferee and re-joiner campaign. This permanent, full-time role operates within the Local Policing Command and serves Cambridgeshire, facing increased demand due to complex crimes such as human trafficking, child sexual exploitation, and cyber-enabled fraud. Officers are required to work with local partners to tackle crime and build community trust, focusing on protecting vulnerable people. The Constabulary operates a North/South policing model with hubs in Peterborough, Cambridge, and other locations to focus policing resources effectively.
The role involves investigative work across Child Abuse Investigations (CAISU) and Rape Investigation Teams (RIT), handling serious and complex cases in partnership with multi-agency groups. Officers are encouraged to build positive relationships with young people, vulnerable individuals, and minority groups, promoting engagement and improving public confidence through sensitive encounters.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary values diversity and actively encourages applications from female officers, those from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds, and individuals who speak languages other than English. Transferee intakes are held multiple times a year, with upcoming intakes on 22nd September 2025 and 22nd February 2026.
