Logistics Project Manager

Description:

MacGregor Black, a specialist recruitment partner, is hiring on behalf of a Leading Wholesaler for the position of Logistics Project Manager. Based on-site in Greater London, this is a fixed-term contract (FTC) ideal for an experienced logistics professional with a solid background in FMCG operations.

As a Logistics Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives focused on enhancing the efficiency and performance of distribution networks and supply chain processes. This role demands a seasoned logistics leader with hands-on experience in designing and implementing process improvements using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead logistics and supply chain projects with the objective of reducing costs and enhancing efficiency across operations

• Collaborate with internal teams across operations, finance, procurement, and IT to identify bottlenecks and recommend sustainable solutions

• Foster strategic relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers, distributors, and 3PLs to drive continuous service improvement

• Manage project budgets while ensuring optimal balance between cost and service delivery

• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or related frameworks to drive process optimization, eliminate waste, and support a culture of continuous improvement

• Utilize logistics software (SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS) and tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to manage and communicate progress effectively

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, particularly within the FMCG sector

• Deep understanding of logistics challenges such as inventory control, demand planning, and rapid distribution

• Demonstrated success in delivering logistics projects from concept to completion

• Expertise in process improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma)

• Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging cross-functional teams and external partners

• Technologically proficient and data-driven
