Project Officer

Description:

Applications are invited for a Project Officer to support the Heat Pipe Research Group at Brunel University London in delivering the objectives of the Enhancement Project. The Project Officer will play a central role in coordinating, monitoring, and facilitating the project’s modelling and simulation activities. Working closely with the academic lead, the postholder will ensure effective organisation of project tasks, support the deployment of industrial thermal management solutions, assist with planning practical investigations, and help interpret technical outcomes to inform industrial decision‑making. Relevant industrial experience is compulsory for this role, as the position requires confident engagement with real‑world engineering environments and industry‑focused project delivery.

The Project Officer will be a key contributor to the project’s operational and reporting requirements, supporting the preparation of technical deliverables, research documentation, and milestone reports for the European Commission. The role requires close collaboration with internal academic teams and European partners to ensure that simulation work packages are delivered on schedule, meet required standards, and are fully integrated into the wider scientific and technical objectives of the consortium.

The successful applicant will join the Heat Pipe and Thermal Management Research Group, led by Professor Hussam Jouhara, and will work in partnership with European collaborators to coordinate the modelling‑related components of the Enhancement Project. The Project Officer will oversee the administrative and organisational aspects of simulation‑focused work packages, ensuring alignment with project goals, supporting methodological development processes, and facilitating the integration of modelling outputs into project reporting and dissemination activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented professional with experience in project coordination, particularly within engineering, applied research, or computational science and a proven track record of working in industrial settings.

We offer a generous annual leave package plus discretionary University closure days, excellent training and development opportunities as well as a great occupational pension scheme and a range of health-related support. The University is committed to a hybrid working approach.
