Risk Manager

Description:

Monzo Bank, a pioneer in modern banking, is seeking a Policy, Standards & External Reporting Risk Manager to join its expanding Shared Services team. This key role will oversee policy governance, regulatory compliance, and accurate external reporting, particularly for the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and Non-Prudential Regulatory Returns (NPRR).

As a vital member of the Risk & Control Discipline, you will work closely with risk partners, compliance, legal, and internal data teams to ensure regulatory adherence, policy implementation, and accurate risk reporting. This role offers an opportunity to influence Monzo’s risk management processes and enhance reporting workflows through automation and strategic improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee external non-prudential regulatory reporting, including CMA and NPRR submissions.

• Define and apply materiality thresholds for non-compliance and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

• Drive policy implementation, mapping policies to regulations, risks, and controls for clear reporting.

• Collaborate with internal teams to identify changing regulatory requirements and integrate them effectively.

• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives in policy and external reporting.

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on compliance, policy adherence, and regulatory submissions.

• Liaise with risk partners and data teams to ensure seamless data accuracy and risk reporting integrity.

Candidate Profile:

• Proven expertise in external regulatory reporting and risk policy management.

• Experience in designing and implementing process automation within risk or policy frameworks.

• Strong understanding of regulatory obligations in a banking or financial context.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

• Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and drive initiatives independently.
