Senior Civil Engineer

Pick Everard, a renowned multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking a Senior Water Civil Engineer to join its expanding team in Manchester or Leeds. This is a full-time hybrid position focused on delivering innovative and sustainable civil engineering solutions across wastewater, clean water, and environmental infrastructure projects.

The role is part of a growing national water engineering team that serves major UK clients including Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Yorkshire Water, and others. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical designs from feasibility through construction, mentoring junior staff, engaging with clients, and contributing to the firm’s goal of providing low-carbon, affordable water infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical design efforts across diverse water-related projects

• Design and assess infrastructure for pumping stations, sewerage, clean water networks, green/blue infrastructure, etc.

• Mentor and support junior engineers

• Contribute to project and team management

• Participate in client meetings and support new business development

• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and design best practices

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status (or actively pursuing)

• Extensive experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects

• Proficiency with civil design software tools

• Strong technical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and reporting abilities

• Experience managing design teams and collaborating across disciplines

• Familiarity with a range of contract types and project environments
